
Job Description: Part-Time Youth Pastor
Position Type: Part-Time (10–15 hours per week, flexible)
Reports To: Lead Pastor / Church Leadership
Ministry Training & Youth Program Oversight: Amy McGuire, Interim Youth Director
Spiritual Formation & Discipleship: Jonathan Chambers, Community Life Pastor
Location: Rockaway Beach, MO
Position Summary
Bridge of Faith Community Church is seeking a passionate, biblically grounded Part-Time Youth Pastor to join and strengthen an already healthy and growing youth ministry. This role is intentionally designed to build upon the strong foundation currently in place and is not a rebuild or rebrand position.

The Youth Pastor will receive ministry training and program continuity guidance from Amy McGuire, Interim Youth Director, while personal discipleship, spiritual formation, and pastoral care will be provided by Jonathan Chambers, Community Life Pastor. This shared leadership model reflects Bridge of Faith’s commitment to healthy ministry rhythms, clear leadership lanes, and sustainable care for staff.

The Bridge of Faith Youth Ministry brings together churched and unchurched students from two school districts into one Christ-centered community. The ideal candidate is relational, teachable, and excited to serve within an established vision while growing under supportive leadership.
PRIMARY Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership & Teaching

Model Christ-like character, humility, and integrity.

Teach biblically sound lessons aligned with the current youth ministry vision and curriculum.

Assist in leading weekly youth programming, including Sunday School and the Wednesday Reach Program.

Foster a prayerful, Christ-centered culture among students.

Ministry Training & Continuity
-
Train under Amy McGuire in youth ministry structure, culture, and programming.

Maintain continuity with existing curriculum, systems, and relational approaches.

Support and strengthen the foundation already established in the youth ministry.

Gradually assume leadership responsibilities in alignment with training and capacity.

Discipleship & Pastoral Support

Receive intentional discipleship, spiritual formation, and pastoral care from Jonathan Chambers, Community Life Pastor.

Participate in regular spiritual check-ins, accountability, and leadership development.

Grow personally and spiritually within a healthy pastoral support structure.

Discipleship & Relationships with Students

Build authentic, Christ-centered relationships with youth.

Provide encouragement, accountability, and biblical guidance to students.

Communicate and partner with parents and guardians as needed.

Maintain appropriate presence at youth gatherings and events.

Volunteer & Student Leadership Development
-
Support volunteer leaders serving in the youth ministry.

Encourage students to grow in leadership, service, and ownership of their faith.

Model servant leadership within the church body.

Programming & Engagement

Assist in planning and leading engaging weekly youth gatherings.

Support special events, retreats, and service opportunities throughout the year.

Use creativity and relevant communication tools to connect with students.

Summer Ministry Leadership (Seasonal Emphasis)

Assist in leading the Summer Adventure 116 Program, including:
- Teaching leadership habits and Christ-centered values
- Helping lead adventure activities (hiking, float trips, team-building outings)
- Supporting service projects on campus and in the Rockaway Beach community -
Assist with logistics, safety protocols, and parent communication.

Team Collaboration

Work collaboratively with church staff and leadership.

Participate in limited staff meetings and planning sessions as appropriate.

Support the overall mission and values of Bridge of Faith Community Church.
Time Commitment

10–15 hours per week on average

Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings, and occasional events

Additional hours during summer programming

Flexible scheduling with seasonal rhythm
Qualifications

A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

A teachable spirit and openness to coaching and discipleship.

Solid understanding of Scripture and a heart for youth ministry.

Strong relational, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Comfortable with outdoor and adventure-based activities.

Alignment with the mission and values of Bridge of Faith Community Church.
Compensation & Housing

Part-time compensation (hourly or salary), based on experience

On-campus housing may be available in the Bridge of Faith Village, depending on fit and availability
